Why...hello!
From this entry forward, I will be writing on the Dreamwidth blog site. All entries dated before this one were brought over from my LiveJournal. My LiveJournal had been sitting there, pretty much dormant for a little over 5 years when I discovered that the LiveJournal Terms of Service are now governed under the jurisdiction of Russian law. I was like, "NOPE" and decided to migrate my journal to Dreamwidth. One of the reasons I chose Dreamwidth was that I happened to read some online comment that said that this community is still fairly active (even though that is relative nowadays with pretty much everyone going over to the "Big 3" social networks). And looking at random entries, it *does* look like people have been posting here recently. The other reason is that one of my friends, who switched here from LJ a long time ago, still seems to be posting!

And by the way, for the most part, Dreamwidth has done a lovely job of migrating my journal. I should probably have expected it because after all, Dreamwidth is a clone/fork of LiveJournal and their underlying structures are supposedly pretty similar. But still, it's nice when something works as expected...thanks Dreamwidth!

Perhaps I should...find a stopping point here? There's so much to say (such as WHY I'm attempting to start a blog again, about the state of social media, etc.)...if only there were enough time to spend on doing this!

PS-That's so awesome that I can even use my old userpics! (may want to update them in the near future though)

comments
