I know that I really haven't written much on LJ this month....it's just that since coming back from Illinois, things have been relatively hectic for me. My trip to Illinois was nice. I drove to Baltimore to catch a plane to Chicago...thank goodness the flight didn't leave to early or else I would have had to spend the previous night in Baltimore. The flight from Chicago to Champaign was pretty interesting...from the plane, you could see the town but outside of that was nothing but farmland...just a bunch of patchwork squares of land. Thankfully the two days were really nice so I got to walk around campus in sunny weather. I got to listen in on an online class, which was very different from what I had thought an online masters class to be...for one the students really got to participate in it a lot. The next morning I got to listen in on a regular class taught by a very interesting instructor. I learned a lot from both classes. It was quite a busy two days...talking to people, touring the main library, being taken out to eat first by the coordinator of my trip and then by a group of grad students. Everyone was so friendly, singing the praises of the school and the campus looked really quaint. Oh, and the hotel I stayed in was very nice...I'm glad I decided to take the coordinator's advice and spend a little more money on a hotel that was closer to campus.
