Thanks to those who gave me a warm welcome to the LJ community by posting their comments! It makes me glad that I started a LiveJournal and it has come closer to persuading me to keep this as my "main" blog/journal or whatever you want to call it. I kept wanting to post to it and customizing it...hehe, I guess it'll be a little at a time. Another thing, if you are a friend of mine or someone I know who has a LiveJoural and you are not already on my friends list...make yourself known! Thanks to those who have already put me on their friends list...
It's such a nice day outside...it's not too hot and not to cold...it's that unexplainable "feeling" of fall approaching. I had wanted to go for a walk, but I'll wait to eat lunch first and do this LJ entry. It's a shame that this summer has been so intolerably hot and that there weren't more days like this. But as my sister G said, right now we're in a transition between seasons, and it won't last very long.
Speakin of sisters...my sister M is back for the second weekend in a row! She's practically recovered from her wisdom teeth removal, so she's been out visiting her friends for the most part...good to see that she's back to normal ;-)

One thing I want to talk about is the tragedy of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina (Check out my 360 Blog entry about it). Since the day before yesterday, I've found myself just drawn to the news on the Internet and on TV to hear updates about everything that's going on there. I even checked out arial photos of the flooded areas. I don't know about everyone else, but I haven't been like this since 9/11 and I daresay, this hurricane has been the most devastating thing to happen to the U.S. since 9/11. It has cast quite a somber mood over the nation. However, I feel that, in spite of the ineffectiveness of response at first, there seems to be a great spirit of service towards the people in the affected area. I am usually not one to donate easily to charities and causes (even though I would like to in the future), but I ended up donating to the Red Cross, which I feel has always done so much to help people, worldwide. If you want to donate too, just click on the link on my IM profile.

Well, I have to go...sister M is scowling because I'm using the computer.

Hey everyone!
This is my first LJ entry everrrr! The whole format seems kind of awkard and hard to get around...Oh well, I'm sure I'll get used it it. I guess I started my very own LJ because *sigh* yes, "everyone else is doing it". But in my defense, LJ seems to have pretty cool features and I like how there's a sense of "community" among LJ-keepers. Still, I feel a bit clumsy using this format. I also have this one blog that I'm keeping on Yahoo! 360 and also have a neglected one in the original home of blogs, no other than Blogger. It seems that I might have the symptoms of Multiple Blog Disorder or fear of blog commitment...so I guess I'll have to figure out which one I'll finally settle on...
So anyways *ahem*....I went to get my driver's license renewed for the first time since I turned 21. It was about a half hour wait, but my iRiver mp3 player kept me happy and distracted...by the time it was my turn, I was swaying to the beat of the music I was listening to...I'm sure people that I was coo-coo. But finally, after getting my picture, taking a vision test, and answering a few questions, I had my new license. It didn't turn out too bad. I realized after the fact that I should perhaps have put some make-up on to add some color to my face (it looked like I pulled an all-nighter with dark circles under my eyes), but at least my expression was rather neutral. That was my biggest worry...I didn't want to come out looking like I was mad or stoned. *Aside* That's what I don't get: People complain about how bad the pictures on their licenses look...but do they ever think of not scowling or at least trying to smile just an eensy bitsy bit?
Anywayz...I'm reading the sixth Harry Potter book "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince". I started at about a chapter a day...but now it's getting good so I'm doing two chapters a day...and no, DON'T GIVE AWAY THE ENDING, and yes, I WILL BE FINISHED READING IT SOON ENOUGH...so I'll be free to disscuss it with those who have already read it. :-) And yes...I can't wait to finish it and disscuss it with "you guys".
On another note...I finally got a job as a Library Assistant at the local library. Unfortunately, it's only for 14-16 hours a week...but it's better than nothing and it's one step closer to my goal of going into Library Science. The awkward thing is that there's a full time Library Assistant position that I applied to that will be setting up interviews next week...and to be honest, I'd rather have a full time job. What if I get that job? I might just try to do both jobs and if not...I might have to quit the part time one...but then again, what if I don't get the full time one? So there you are...that's me, for now!
