So I finally finished reading "Love in the Time of Cholera." What can I say? It was a great story...definitely not what I was expecting, nevertheless it was a very well-written story. I really liked the author's deft movement back and forth in time in a way that didn't confuse the reader. Anyway, after I finished the story I decided to read what others had to say about the story, so yes, I went to Wikipedia. As expected, it wasn't a very in-depth analysis (I will probably get a book that analyzes the story from the library) but I was very pleasantly surprised to find out that it just so happens that a movie based on the book is coming out very soon...in two weeks in fact!
( I kinda go into the story here so if you haven't read the book yet and don't want the story to be spoiled for you, skip this part )
Anywayz, I can't wait to see the movie! I thought it quite a happy coincidence that the movie is coming out just as I finish reading the book. Then again, I now wonder if putting the book on Oprah's Book Club list was a coincidence after all.....
PS-
intothebluagain, if you're looking for a book to read, I recommend this one, but I'll warn you, there might be a few, um, disturbing parts ;-)
