What is (or was) your college major? Do you use it for your career?
My college major was "Foreign Languages and Literatures with a concentration in three languages", which I think is unique to the university I went to (but I'm probably wrong). Basically, I was able to choose three languages and earn a certain amount of credits for each language. Yes, I admit it that the major was a joke, but I really enjoyed taking classes in Japanese and Spanish (particularly a class in the history of the Spanish language) and French literature classes. In other words, I'm a language nerd.
The only thing my major would have helped me with was to become a high school language teacher or get into the literature of one of the languages as an academic field, which were things that I did NOT want to do. So ultimately, the only thing it helped me with was to get a masters degree in library science, which led me to a job working with books in Spanish. However, I grew up speaking Spanish so my major didn't really help me with that aspect of my job either.
