So I'm back in Pittsburgh...
May. 13th, 2007 11:32 pmToday Sister M, my parents, and I celebrated Mother's Day at Olive Garden, our "usual" restaurant. I feared that with it being Mother's Day and all, we wouldn't be able to get a table at any restaurant, but we were pretty smart and got there at 11:30 so we got a table right away and our food got to us pretty quickly.
After going back home, I finished the rest of my packing, said goodbye to my folks, and left. Not much to say about the six hour+ haul back to the 'burgh. Just a matter of getting it done and over with. So I arrive at around 9pm and as I turned on Forbes Avenue, I prepared myself for the onslaught of traffic that usually greets me on coming back to Pittsburgh. But lo and behold, the streets were practically abandoned. The students made like a banana and split! I should have figured as much, but I didn't imagine that the difference would be so dramatic. I think this explains a lot about the city and why the cuts in bus service will take place in the summer :-P
I also changed my user icon. It's a reference to "The Rutles", a Monty Python parody of The Beatles. I just found the quote hilarious, and since a "Lazy Days" icon is no longer appropriate, I thought I'd use this as my user icon ;-)
