burendasan4Yesterday, (actually, while reading about GreatestJournal's blocking the creation of new accounts *gasp*)<--EDIT:(Apparently, new accounts can once again be created) I happened to come across an LJ-archiving program called, you guessed it, LJArchive. It's a program that not only archives your LJ, it archives it in an environment that is very similar, yet more intuitive, than regular LJ. It's so much easier to navigate through your older entries, which are listed in a sort of spreadsheet-list form. This is exactly what I had wanted for archiving my LJ.
I had wanted to back up my LJ on my hard drive but with the amount of entries I have, cutting and pasting wasn't going to cut it (no pun intended). I also lamented the thought of losing the context of the LJ environment...like the themes, the userpics, and comments. In fact, my final project for my Digital Preservation class was a discussion on how to best "preserve" LiveJournal and to list all the elements/aspects of LJ to consider in the archiving or "preserving" individual LJs. I mentioned that the ideal way of archiving it was to recreate the LJ environment. And sure enough, this program does exactly that. If only I had known about this program, I would have been able to talk about it!
Besides simply archiving, the program has these little extras referred to as "plug-ins" that analyze your LJ for the frequency of entries per month, your top commenters (![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
slashtacular and aesthetictrekie, I'm looking at you!;-)), and frequency of words used. So without further ado, I give you my top 10 words used on burendasan4!
So in the past 2+ years that I've been on LiveJournal, I've used:
1)library...124 times! (is it even that much of a surprise? ;-))
2) nice...123 times! (darn...that's a lot. Need to be a bit more creative in my adjectives perhaps?)
3)pittsburgh...96 times! (of course I would...it's like, where I live! duh!)
4)apartment...83 times! (I must love my apartment :-))
5)weekend...77 times! (what can I say? I live for the weekends ;-))
6)today...76 times! (I guess I don't wait for the next day to write about it :-P)
7)actually...73 times! (Actually, I don't use it that much...yeah right!)
8)later...69 times! (Narrating much? ;-))
9)japanese...67 times! (I'm actually (there goes that word again!) surprised this word didn't at least make my top 3!)
10)birthday...65 times! (what can I say? It's birthday fun all year round! Or at least all November long! ;-))
