Have you ever had a friend, or rather, an acquaintance that you only see once or twice a year, even though you have a great time when you get together? Well, my husband and I have such a friend, who we saw this weekend at the party of a mutual friend. We always have such great conversations with our friend and when we’re about to part ways, he says, “We really should get together more often, it’s just that I’ve been so busy…” But then another year goes by and neither of us makes the initiative until we meet each other again, usually at another party, and again, this friend says, “We really should get together more often…” The last time we saw him, it had been the first time in nearly two years! The truth is, we’re never going to get together more often even though we have a very enjoyable time whenever we do see him…I just wish he wouldn’t keep saying so earnestly that we should get together soon when we all know it’s not going to happen. Before we parted ways with him this weekend, you guessed it, he said very earnestly, “We really should get together soon…”
